Dozens of students and youth submit coins to Prime Minister Tony Abbott Australia through the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, on Tuesday (10/03).

Coins are stored in four plastic bags were handed dozens of students from Aceh, Gorontalo, Central Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, and Java to the representative of the Australian Embassy.

When submitted, the coins totaling 17 837 pieces were worth a total of Rp7,3 million. 

Nevertheless, one of the students named Grace Himran said he and his colleagues will continue to collect coins for Abbott until the day before the execution.

Coin collecting action carried out in a number of regions in Indonesia after Abbott remarks deemed linking Australian assistance in the tsunami in Aceh in 2004 with the execution plan of the two Australians, Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan.

In Jakarta, on February 22, symbolic actions such as collecting coins to be given to the Australian government was held by a group of people on the sidelines of the car free day at the Hotel Indonesia roundabout.

Previously, the Indonesian Muslim Student Action Union (KAMMI) Aceh staged a coin collection as a protest against the Abbott statement, since Saturday (21/02) ago.

The appeal of collecting coins is also rife in social media marked presence of thousands hashtag # CoinForAustralia and also #KoinUntukAustralia.
